Heuchera 'Amethyst'

Description

Common Name:

Coral Bells

Description:

A colourful, clump forming perennial well admired for its lush purple leaves.

Flower:

Spikes of small white, bell shaped flowers.

Size:

30cm x 45cm

Growing Conditions:

A light shade is best, full sun and heat can cause the leaves to scorch. While they like a good watering they also need freed raining soil.

Care:

Little care is needed but trimming off flower spikes and older leaves will keep a tidy appearance.

Uses:

·         A great filler plant or used for contrast.

·         Prefect as a groundcover in a semi shaded spot.

·         Combine with other perennials for a colourful planting.

Comment:

Heuchera fit in almost anywhere. They are at home in woodlands settings, are useful for rockeries, containers, as part of a flowering border and mass planted as groundcover. The leaf colour is great as contrast, helping other colours stand out. And the lush leaf is the perfect foil for fine leaved plants.
